It should not click when untightening - it seems likely that yours has got a worn or damaged ratchet mechanism. Try undoing it when the engine is either at running temperature, or stone cold. It might firm up in the cold weather, so trying first thing on a very cold morning might just do the trick.
had to change oil and filter, yes best drop the plastic cover, it wont take long, be carefull with the sump plug as i had to get mine out with a small chisel and a lump hammer, (dont worry it's not that drastic) just keep away from the sump, but if yours comes out easy great, and its easy with the plastic cover off, to change the filter, shop

I've checked the oil level, its fine. Checked the egr - buts its definitely oil as its blue/grey smoke. egr is usually black. Checked Oil for water contamination - no issues. Checked Water for Oil contamination - no issues. Think I will swap the engine with 1 from a fiat multipla 1.9 jtd.
